Camp

  1. -crawls out from under the gorse wall and stretches, yawning, her whiskers twitching to flick off the droplets of rain clinging to them- Still hasn't let up, huh? -looks up into the sky for a few moments- Wow, they really miffed the old guys. -chuckles to herself and leaps onto the Tallrock, sitting and curling her tail around her paws, waiting for her Clanmates to wake up-

  2. -watches the camp from the safety of a nice, dry den, his silky, smooth chocolate fur’s brilliance dulled by the grey mist swallowing the camp from the rain. His ears flatten in annoyance as a rain drop falls and splatters onto the top of his head from a leak in the den’s roof-

  3. -walks over to sit next to Umbersong, carefully stepping around the other warriors’ nests. She gives his ear a friendly lick, then looks around the camp and frowns a little at all the small puddles on the ground and the sheet of rain blanketing the camp. She curls her long, furry tail around herself, fluffing out her thick brown pelt against the cold morning chill, murmuring- It’s a rather gloomy day, isn’t it?

  4. -nods, still staring out at the soaked camp, his amber eyes like slits of warm sunshine against his dark, rich fur, his voice deep and melodic- If this keeps up, all the rabbits will be hiding in their dens. Prey will be scarce... -his eyes narrow slightly as another drop of water falls onto his head, and he lets out a soft hiss-

  5. -pads along the gorse wall to get to Turtlestep and Umbersong, her long fur spiked out slightly and her voice scratchy as if fighting off a cold- Don't be so dramatic, Umbersong. The rain will let up in a day or two, and then all the rabbits will be out at once looking for food. And I'm not sure if you've noticed, but Nettlestar had all our freshkill put in the abandoned tunnels to stay dry. -purrs- We'll be fine.

  6. -opens his jaws as if he’s going to protest, then pauses, frowning slightly, his eyes betraying worry- I suppose... -he goes back to gazing out at the camp, his long, tufted ears perked up as if listening to the soft drumming of the rain-

  7. -gives Umbersong a playful shove, letting out a small purr as she looks at Snowthroat- Oh, he’s just freaking out because Sundapple’s expecting. All of a sudden he thinks she needs to eat every rabbit on the moor!

  8. -flicks her ears- Oh, really? That's good news. -looks at Umbersong and dips her head- Well, there's plenty of prey around still, so don't worry too much.

  9. -bats Turtlestep’s ear gently, a soft growl rumbling in his throat- I’m not worried. -looks at Snowthroat and dips his head- Just... want to make sure we have enough freshkill for everyone, is all. -purrs-

  10. -scrambles to his paws as soon as he wakes up and leaps out of the apprentices’ den, his large tail fluffing up in excitement as mud splatters his thick grey pelt. He stares wide-eyed at all the puddles scattered across the camp, then begins running around, his paws splashing into every pool of water he comes across. He starts yowling, his tail sticking straight up in the air- Breezewhisker! Breezewhisker! You should come out and play with me, the weather’s great! -pauses to shake the rain off his fur, then purrs and starts rolling through the mud-

  11. -runs after his apprentice, black-and-white fur fluffed out- Wait, Pigeonpaw, don't— -stops and stares at Pigeonpaw's muddy fur, sounding more exasperated than angry- What'd you do?! It's going to take forever to wash that out!

  12. -purrs and calls from where she's sitting- Breezewhisker, give him a break, will you? It's his last morning as an apprentice. Let him have a little fun.

  13. -stops and stares up at Nettlestar, his eyes round- Wait, really? -he starts running around Breezewhisker, purring- I’m gonna be a warrior! I’m gonna be a warrior!

  14. -sighs and shakes his head helplessly- Your hunting and fighting exams were just a few sunrises ago... Did you really not know this is what they were for? -pauses, his voice growing quieter as though he's more talking to himself now- No matter. I guess you are going to be a warrior today, so I must have done something right.

  15. -looks down at Pigeonpaw- Yep. Soon as everybody decides to get up, that is. -casts an annoyed glance at the gorse walls, where several cats are still curled up, their sides rising and falling rhythmically in sleep-

  17. -leaps out of his nest when he hears Pigeonpaw yowling, his cream fur bushed up. He stares at the plump grey-furred apprentice, his yellow eyes wide- Pigeonpaw! Y-You scared me... -he starts licking the fur on his back, trying to flatten it. His normally thin tail is now twice it’s usual size, and his ears are flicking anxiously-

  18. -hisses half-heartedly and turns over, lashing his tail in annoyance and mumbling- Calm down, kid. A couple hours isn't going to kill you.

  19. -races over to Dovefoot’s nest and starts shaking him, his voice high-pitched in excitement- But Dovefoot, I’m gonna be a warrior! -pauses- Oh, do you wanna play with me? The mud outside’s really great! -bats at his ear playfully-

  20. -hisses a little louder, his fur bristling slightly- Playing in the mud's for kits, not warriors. You should act your age.

  21. -pads up to Pigeonpaw and taps his shoulder with a paw gently to get his attention- Hey, why don't we go on a border patrol, you and me? It's definitely a more...productive way to spend your time. -purrs-

  22. -stares at Dovefoot for a few more moments before looking at Breezewhisker, his eyes round- O... Okay! -glances back at Dovefoot again, then bounces after Breezewhisker, his large tail held high-
